Springfield City School District Hires New Principal at Kenwood Elementary


The Springfield City School District’s Board of Education has hired Allyson Thurman as the new Principal of Kenwood Elementary.

Allyson Thurman, a Springfield North High School graduate, previously served as Principal at Northeastern High School in Springfield, Ohio for the last three years. She has also served as Assistant Principal at Kenton Ridge High School and as an Intervention Specialist at the Tolles Career and Technical Center in Plain City, Ohio.

Allyson graduated from Wittenberg University, and earned her Masters Degree from Antioch University. Ms. Thurman most recently received her Superintendent’s Licensure from the Ohio State University in 2016.

Allyson Thurman had the following to say, in regards to her recent hire, “I am looking forward to beginning the new school year at Kenwood Elementary. I am also excited, as I'll be returning to the district that I attended as a K-12 student. It's going to be a great year.”
