The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol handled a serious injury traffic crash on State Route 41 just north of Old 70. At approximately 9:00 AM on May 3, 2020, Troopers from the Springfield Post responded to a request for assistance from the Clark County Sheriff’s Office in an effort to apprehend a fleeing vehicle. Troopers were advised the fleeing vehicle crashed and they responded to the scene to investigate the traffic crash. The Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the South Charleston Police Department are investigating the pursuit.
A 2010 Chevrolet Impala, driven by Timothy Boswell, 45, of South Charleston was fleeing northbound on State Route 41. Mr. Boswell drove off the left side of the roadway while negotiating a curve and overturned.
Mr. Boswell was not wearing a safety belt and was transported to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries by care-flight.
The Springfield Post was assisted at the scene by the Clark County Sheriff’s Office and the Harmony Township Fire and EMS. The crash remains under investigation. Any questions can be directed to Lieutenant Aller of the Springfield Highway Patrol Post.
