The Springfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol received a request from the Springfield Police Division to investigate a serious injury crash on June 30, 2019 at approximately 6:00 P.M.  The crash was on North Limestone Street at Ridge Ave in the City of Springfield.

A 1981 Chevrolet Corvette, driven by (46YOA) Everett Ferryman of Marysville, was northbound on Limestone in the right lane.  A 2010 Toyota Corolla, driven by (56YOA) Jennifer Powell of Springfield, was heading westbound from the stop sign at Ridge Ave.  The Toyota struck the right side of the Corvette, sending the Corvette out of control and eventually off the right side of the roadway striking a speed limit sign and cement barrier.

Robin Harsh (45YOA) of Milford Center, was a passenger in the Corvette.  Both occupants of the Corvette were transported to Springfield Regional Hospital, then transported by Careflight to Miami Valley Hospital with serious injuries.

Jennifer Powell was transported to Springfield Regional Hospital and subsequently released.

The crash is still under investigation and no charges filed at this time.  “We are currently investigating the causative factors in the crash,” said Lieutenant Aller. The intersection was closed for several hours during the investigation, reconstruction and scene processing.

The Springfield Police and Fire/ Rescue Division responded and assisted at the scene.
