At the July 18, 2018 meeting of the Clark County Commissioners, the commissioners authorized a contract with Pivot Point Partners LLC for the Clark County Auditor’s Office for $135,578 for software to assist the county with property appraisals. According to GIS Director Shayne Gray, “We are trying to go paperless with field appraisals. We are using technology to increase productivity in the field.” The contract is effective July 18, 2018 through July 17, 2023.
In addition, the commissioners increased the contract with Hauck Bros. Inc. by not more than $50,000 to include the Dog Warden’s heating and cooling equipment in the service agreement.
For the Mental Health and Recovery Board of Clark, Greene, and Madison Counties, the commissioners approved a request to place a 1.00 mill renewal levy for 10 years beginning in 2019 through 2028 on the November 6, 2018 ballot. The levy will provide funds for operation of community mental health service providers and addition service for the acquisition, construction, renovation financing, maintenance and operation of mental health facilities and addition facilities.
In regular business, the commissioners approved a payment of $7,300 to Project Woman for second quarter marriage license fees
In addition, CEO of Springfield Regional Medical Center Matt Caldwell spoke to the commissioners about the facility. He said that the hospital is the largest employer in the county. The facility directly employs over 2,000 employees and indirectly over 3300. The facility generates over $372 million in revenues for the region. According to Caldwell, the hospital has one of the top rated cardiovascular programs in the Midwest. The hospital not only offers excellent medical services but also gives back to the community through donations, free health care and addiction services.
The next meeting of the Clark County Commissioners is scheduled for Tuesday, July 24, 2018 in the Mercantile Building at 10:00 a.m. at the Clark County Fairgrounds.
