On February 17, 2018, the Right to Life Society of Clark County awarded two cash prizes to the winner of its annual Champion Life Speech Contest at St. Bernard’s Catholic Church’s Metzdorf Building in Springfield, Ohio. Nathan Furlough, a Home Schooled Senior from Yellow Springs finished first with his speech titled “Saving the Smiling Faces “ and Jacob Koehler from Springfield finished a close second with his speech titled “Life of Alzheimer’s”. The Society awarded the first place prize of $150 to Nathan and the 2nd place prize of $100 to Jacob for the best junior or senior level speeches. Nathan will represent Clark County at the Ohio Right to Life Oratory contest for juniors and seniors in Central Ohio on Saturday April 28, 2018 in Columbus, Ohio..
Linda Ervin, retired English teacher, Jake Ballard, a Pastor from Minnesota and Steve Cornett, President of Clark County Right to Life judged this years contest. This contest is an annual Clark County Right to Life event so watch for next year’s contest during February 2019.
