The 2019 Wake the Lake 3/Springfield F1 Powerboat Grand Prix will be held Aug. 9 through 11, 2019 at the Champions Park Lake in Springfield, Ohio.

The 2018 event saw about 5,000 fans attend the event from across the country. It also had about 20 percent growth in corporate tailgate spots, Promoter Dana Potts said. Officials will plan for continued growth in the tailgate area by increasing its availability for 2019.

“It was just such a good vibe on Saturday and Sunday,” Potts said. “I think the Springfield community has really embraced this style of racing along with the racers embracing the community with the parade of boats. I’m still getting messages from local businesses, fans, and boat racers about how great the event was this year."

A free practice day event will be held on Aug. 9, while tickets will be required on Aug. 10 and 11. Race view campsite and tailgate spots will be reserved for patrons who purchased those tickets until Oct. 31. Patrons can renew their spots online or by calling the Clark County Fairgrounds Administration Office. E-mails will be sent out along with notifications on the Clark County Fair Facebook page to alert placeholders about the renewal process. All remaining spots will go on sale to the public on Nov. 1.

Tickets prices will remain the same in 2019 with the addition of free parking for the event.

The race was broadcast worldwide by CBS Sports Network Aug. 29. The event was sponsored by Springfield-based Coldwell Banker Heritage Roediger.
